Kaempferol is a natural compound found in many common fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants, including kale, broccoli, and grapes. Scientists reviewing animal and lab studies found it can calm swollen airways, relax tight breathing muscles, and prevent the kind of scarring that makes asthma worse over time. It hasn't been tested in people yet, and the body doesn't absorb it well on its own, so researchers say better delivery methods and human trials are the next step.
