Vine tea is a plant people in China have long brewed and eaten for its health benefits, and researchers have been digging into why it works. The key ingredient, a flavonoid called dihydromyricetin, attacks harmful bacteria and fungi by breaking down their cell walls, messing with their energy production, and blocking the proteins they need to survive. It works especially well against certain bacteria, and scientists are now experimenting with better delivery methods, like tiny nanoparticles, to make it fight fungi more effectively too.
