Nanoparticles from plants may help fight signs of aging

The ginger in your kitchen and the grapes on your table are already known to shed nanoscale vesicles that researchers are testing as anti-aging treatments, meaning your pantry could hold overlooked medicinal potential.

Plants, just like our own cells, release microscopic bubbles called extracellular vesicles that carry proteins, fats, and genetic material. Scientists reviewing years of lab and animal research found these plant bubbles can calm inflammation, mop up damaging molecules, support gut bacteria, and even help tissues regenerate, all of which are hallmarks of aging. The idea is still early and mostly tested in mice and cell dishes, but it opens the door to using everyday plants as a source of future anti-aging treatments.
