Scientists crack the yew tree's cancer-drug recipe for lab brewing
Scientists have nearly fully mapped the complex biological recipe that yew trees use to make paclitaxel (Taxol), a critical cancer drug, opening the door to brewing it sustainably in engineered yeast, bacteria, or algae instead of stripping it from slow-growing trees.
