The compost tea or mycorrhizal inoculant you add to your garden bed isn't just feeding your plants, it's teaching their immune systems to react faster the next time a pathogen shows up.

Plant roots release chemical signals that attract helpful bacteria and fungi living in the soil. Those microbes respond with their own molecular signals, which plants sense and use to put their immune systems on high alert, so when a real pathogen attacks later, the plant responds faster and stronger. It's essentially a plant version of a flu shot, delivered through soil life instead of a needle.
